The news of SOPA & PIPA got to me a little late but I'm still a bit freaked out by the thought of being censored. Imagine this SAH Blog with censorship. More than likely there'd be no Myrtle Mondays, No Music, No videos, No Motherfucing Cussing, and certainly no jokes about Larry Bird doing anal with Count Chocula or some shit like that. Pretty much all you'd see is… NOTHING. With Censorship, I Do Not Exist. Do your part and take 20 seconds to sign the petition before we're all walking around with butt plugs in our mouths and pacifiers up our asses!

Two bills before Congress, known as the Protect IP Act (PIPA) in the Senate and the Stop Online Piracy Act (SOPA) in the House, would censor the Web and impose harmful regulations on American business. Millions of Internet users and entrepreneurs already oppose SOPA and PIPA.

2011 was quite the interesting year to say the least. The World witnessed the truth about how much attention us surfers gave to basic high school Math as Ke11y's title was so graciously tangled in a game of "Who's The Father?" Groms tore up the EDM scene just as hard as they did the WCT scene and left us old codgers drooling in a pile of our own filth with our pants at our ankles. And somehow technology advanced to a point close to the Bourne Identity and yet they still haven't figured out how to make those stupid fucking hover boards!

As far as things in the SAH world went, I think it's safe to say that the Froth soared to new heights! From GILFs to SEBJs (Spread Eagle BJs) and DJing at Joe's Crab shack to The World's First Underwater DJ Set - the level of progression from day one to day fun was quite unparalleled. All kidding aside, this summer's No Shirt / No Shoes parties and everything from that point on, contributed to the best year of Frothing I've had yet. From sunny daze on the roof, music festivals packed to the brim with good music & good people, road trips North & South, and a revolution that began over a few cold ones & Four to The Floor - it only felt right to pay homage to some of the most incredible memories with a mixtape that encompasses all those great times and all those great tunes. My friends, I present to you "Lordz of FROTH Town (SAH's Best of 2011 Mixtape)". A mix that plays like a hurricane and reads like an epic novel. My time to take Frothing to a global level has finally come! I got a call about a month ago from a big agency saying that Trojan was apparently keeping tabs on me and liked the way my pubic hair blows in the wind when I DJ. As such, they threw down a Tour offer that was too good to refuse! 100 Countries in 200 days (including but not limited to: the US, Colombia, Chino Hills, Bratislava, and the World's FIRST Underwater DJ Set), free profos for life, and a Country Club Forty at every venue I play.

It was the summer of 2003, SaffrSnax aka The Butcher and I were sophomore groms frothing at the bit when we got the call...

Two spots had opened up on what would normally be a 3 year waiting list, it was now or never, pull the trigger or forever dream of what it would be like to experience the Dreamland that is the Island better known as Tavarua, Fiji. Without hesitation, we booked the trip, packed our bags, and got there in the blink of an eye. Once on the island, we surfed our brains out to the point where we'd have to take 6 ibuprofen just to be able to walk in the afternoons. ~~Life was good on the Island~~ Life was perfect on the Island. With nothing more than a bed, a fan, and a toilet inside our Bures; anything more seemed excessive in comparison to life's greatest pleasure that lay in our backyard; the perfect pealing lefts of Cloudbreak & Restaurants aka "Straunts".

After 10 days of Cloudbreak all to ourselves and no more than 10 other people, we were convinced we had died and gone to heaven. Although some of the veterans on the trip informed us that our swell period was somewhat sub-par to the level of perfection that the Island is capable of, in our minds we had surfed some of the best waves in our lives and nobody could take that away from us, nobody.

Our last day on the Island was bitter sweet, almost like all those times your mom had to pry your hands off of your favorite video game just as you were about to beat the final level... Our last session saw a rising swell that went from waist to chest to overhead within an hour and didn't seem to stop growing as we were forced to get out of the water and rush to our flight back home. As we sat on the flight, our minds filled with slide shows of green rooms, kava, and racing sections; no amount of magical cookies or sleeping pills could set our minds at ease. We had tasted the forbidden fruit and we yearned for more...

By the time we got back to California, my inbox had a message from the trip leader stating that the swell had grown and Cloudbreak was too big to surf, Straunts was simply perfect, and Rights was pretty damn good too. Whether or not I should have read that email will remain uncertain but one thing's for sure, the Island of Tavarua will forever be etched in my mind as a place where unparalleled happiness can be achieved with nothing more than a surfboard and some wax...

Clash of the Legends; Momentum Generation

Didn't make it out to the North Shore this year but I've been watching the comps and spraying some mystic on my balls and it almost feels like I'm right there in the middle of all the action. Even though I've seen bigger waves at El Porto on a tuesday in July, the actual idea of this year's Clash of the Legends at the Reef Hawaiian Pro was as good as it gets! 4 of my favorite Momentum Generation idols in the water at once, shralping Haleiwa for their stake at guts, glory, cheddar, and bragging rights until the next showdown. After quite the glorious DJ bender this summer where frothing soared to new heights; Fall & Winter came quicker than me and my first cougar encounter of the third kind! As the water gets cold, the pool freezes over, and I slowly turn into an albino, I've decided to give a stab at producing.

Fresh off the Traktor boat, and Just off the Ableton Jet, I've decided to start things off with a re-work that intends to transport you back to a time when myrts, shneeks, synth, and beats ran as free as Larry Bird at a Big & Tall store. I'm talkin about the 80's man!

It is with much pleasure & froth (of course) that I present to you my first "re-work" entitled: Luther Vandross - I Wonder (SAH Re-Froth), I found a gem of a sample belonging to the legendary Mr. Vandross and spiced it up a bit for the modern dance floor. The list of jokes could go on about Ke11y Slater's 11th and 11.5th World Title and the unfortunate miscalculation that now makes us surfers look way more stoopider than we already are...

November 6th, a brisk Sunday in the Bay, I was frothing in my snow boots trying to get my lurk on at Rip Curl's 7th Official Search Contest. Only needing to win one more heat to Officially clench his 11th World Title, the pressure was on for King Slates as he set ~~froth~~ forth to shred against up-and-coming super groms: Miguel Pupo and Gabriel "Funky Cold" Medina (the eventual winner of the comp). As the three set to the sea, people from far and wide flocked to the water's edge to witness the official crowning of Ke11y's 11th World Title, this time fo reals...

As you can see, the competition was fierce but the uber groms (who were probably soiling themselves in their nighties by the time Kelly was getting his 8th World Title) were no match to Slater's backside floats, frontside hacks, and a barrell just after the buzzer that proved yet again why Kelly is hands down the best surfer that ever lived and put to rest any jokes about his initial Title ~~Fart~~ Farce. Rightfully so, Kelly was re-crowned and the masses frothed harder in amazement than they ever have before...

From Curren's' generation to the momentum generation, Andy's generation to the new wave Dane x Jordy generation, and now the John John x Kolohe x Medina grom generation - Kelly has straight up schooled, fooled, ruled, and ridiculed beyond any comparison; and it doesn't seem like he's planning on leaving his empire of dominance any time soon! It is with much pride, respect, and froth that I'd like to congratulate the 11 Time World Champion: Kelly freaking Slater on his feats, his dominance, and his perseverance throughout his entire career! Hats off to you mate!

As the title race draws near, and 4 contests remain to the rest of the CT year, at least we have a new interesting rivalry to watch and froth over. Tour vet Jimmy "Ke11y" Slade and new skool goofy foot legend Owen Wright. But alas, surfing doesn't need rivalries, surfing needs characters. Adriano's freak out at Trestles was the closest thing to excitement surfing's seen since Bobby's words of wisdom, Sunny & Jeremy's wild day in Oz, and before that it was when Globe dropped Out of Order and we saw fools get licked at Big Rock, Mexi, and all over the place.

I'm not advocating fisticuffs what so ever, but would it hurt anyone to get some mother fuckin excitement goin on around here? The least you could do is put Olive Oil on Adriano's wax, put Kling's fins on backwards , or throw Joe Crimo in as a wildcard! Don't Judge Me!

Ke11y wins yet another comp, surfing sees its first ever 3rd consecutive Finals match up with Owen & Kelly, the judges yet again managed to clean their glasses with tar, oil, and black paint, and I took a shit that lasted longer than an episode of days of our lives…

I was there at the comp getting the bird's eye view but I wasn't necessarily all there, my thoughts and my focus were yet again glued to a computer. As I checked out some footage and nerdbotted some shizlers, one thing kept being made clear; the scoring was as sporadic as Chewbacca on a peyote bender trying to find a knee brace at Chuck E Cheese's.

Whether or not the people who threw out the scores were so hungry to see the history-making "third consecutive final ever" of Kelly vs Owen that they overscored both Owen and Kelly to get them through and into the finals - will never truly be known. Although, two things remain certain:

1.) As much as I think Owen rips (and is my favorite goofy footer on tour), his 9.77 in round 3 was NOT a 9.77.

2.) Julian Wilson did in no way shape or form deserve an interference in his semi heat vs Owen.

3.) Taco Bell's flaming hot cheeto burrito should come with a roll of toilet paper and a free pair of boxers

Below, you will see some of my favorite flyers, logos, and fonts that should give you an idea of what I'm looking for. Think retro 80s, babes, beer, loud, wild, clean, sleek, attention grabbing, and larger than life!

Whether you stumble across a sick font on DaFont.com and somehow incorporate the words Surf Ambassador Hendo or redo the original SAH logo into something more retro/flashy, I'm willing to take in all submissions, post 'em on here, and eventually choose one to make shirts, stickers, and web headings that will eventually be spread all over the World! Essentially, the font will be placed front and center on my laptop and the logo will be placed on countless pairs of warlocks! The winner of said logo/font comp will not only win eternal glory and fame but also a SAH-prize pack filled with goodies galore (music? videos? hats? shades? profos?). Firstly, hats off to Oliver, who undoubtedly has the Midas touch; every single remix they do is pure gold/feel-good floor stompers! Their most recent Sneaky Sound System remix is surely no exception. With a dance beat that moves yo feet, a synth line that makes you think, and Connie Mitchell's vocals that take this track even further, I had a boner 12 seconds into this song; and then I crept on her pictures and pretty much just ruined my 6k thread count Moroccan Ostrich-print bed sheets!

Summer came & went like the Ghost of Xmas' Past on a black tar bender…

As we reach the pearly gates of Fall and say good bye to what could possibly be the best summer I've ever had, I just wanted to do a lil lookback and reflect on the fun that was had.

-March14th: Future Classic releases Poolside's legendary feel-good track "Do You Believe" which in turn gains massive attention thus starting a daytime disco revolution that essentially spawned Dub Frequency's Ian Macpherson to give birth to a legacy that we all know and love as the No Shirt / No Shoes Party Series starting in April. Summer prematurely ejaculates and the bender begins. Meanwhile, Parko wins bells, Cabo San Lucas erupts with LJ locals tearing it a new one, SAH falls for Myrt Reynolds, and Barborg single-handedly makes me shit my snow-boots by busting down the door!

-May: SAH guest DJs for No Shirt / No Shoes party featuring another daytime disco legend by the name of Plastic Plates! The brazzo invasion begins as Adriano De Souza wins the Rio comp and Miguel Pupo takes Nike's Lowers Pro. Gatordade releases their newest brilliancy entitled "Lîmon Pepino", an intriguingly delicious concoction derived of cucumbers, limes, and liquid- roots…

-June: "SAH frothing" becomes domestic as No Shirt / No Shoes resident roster includes: Bixel Boys, Tropicool, & SAH! More cali gigs arrive from DTLA, Hollywood, San Diego and beyond! Cabo ignites in flames for the 2nd time in a row as DDTers and San Diegans alike go ape shit in the streets wearing green suits and Womens' denim dresses! Kermit ponders the size of his penis…

-July: America turns 25, humans celebrate, and still can't believe that they have to work on the 5th of July. July 23rd: the stars align, humans collide on a sunny Saturday rooftop, and I produce my best DJ set to date. Jordy wins J-Bay, APE gloves make triumphant return, and SUPing officially becomes Perez Hilton's favorite pastime. Flat Top inducts the No Shirt / No Shoes crew into Billabong's elite DJ club and we Blow Up…

-August: Hardfest, Pac Fest, Fuck Fest, Froth Fest… The saturation of electro begins as festivals and gigs all over California celebrate the life and death of electronic music, meanwhile Disco lives in the Honey Lounge, San Francisco, and of course on the DTLA Standard Rooftop. By far, Pacific Festival takes the cake for best lineup, best venue, and overall best music festival experience within 2011. Jeffrey Paradise & Ava Berlin's Blow Up Forever party takes the cake for a phenomenal lineup, great atmosphere, and best disco party for Summer 2011. Ke11y Slater wins Teahupoo and Beetle Borg makes his long anticipated comeback to Waikiki's red light district…

-September: My big bro ties the knot as I sit shotgun and witness the greatest celebration of love this planet has ever known! Owen wins New Yoke comp. Yesterday: No Shirt / No Shoes Summer Party Series ends with a bang! See you all next summer; or will we????

If you missed any of the festivities this summer, the man, the myth, the legend behind this epic series aka Dub Frequency's/Bixel Boys very own Ian MacPherson has broken down the fun, the froth, and the fury for yaz:
*NS1 - We brought out Poolside for their very first LA DJ set; and UK synthmasters Futurecop!

On the left side is the World famous Disco Duo better known as Duck Sauce (consisting of Armand Van Helden & A-Trak) and on the right side is none other than the best surfer that Ever lived aka Kelly "SlaTEN" Slater! If you think about it, there's really not all that much different between the two parties…

Both Duck Sauce and Slater get paid to travel the World, go the most extravagant VIP parties filled with the most beautiful myrtles in the land, surf waves (one surfs sounds waves, one surfs real waves), they both have the power to move thousands of people with their remarkable skills, and they both have been in the game since they were frothy lil groms!

As I awoke from a hazy and hunch-backed Hardfest this morning/afternoon, I turned on the boob tube and began to witness a more than bizarre US Open final as Slates completely dominated Yadin Nicol. With 4 minutes left in the final, Slater had already caught 6 waves, spun a full 360 air, posted a total of 17 on the baord, and read half of Moby Dick; at which point Yades caught his first close-out and flung his board in chop hop disgust. Ultimately, Slater let the World know (yet again) that he's back and he ain't goin no where in anytime soon! Hail!

Flashback to several hours before and picture me rollin…
As I sat on a grassy knoll (myrt in hand) overlooking a sea of candy/raver kids going completely ape-shit for the richest Disco-Bisque Set that I have seen served to date, I SAH-stomped the night away and dreamt I was a panda dancing in a field of cotton candy! As I got closer and closer to the dynamic disco duo, the warmth and energy of the crowd grew greater and greater. As Duck Sauce magically pulled out disco bangers like rabbits out of their hats, a sense of euphoria (a feeling somewhat similar to getting pitted) came over me and I cried like a baby lamb on free slurpee day...

Moral of the story is: Slates is Duck Sauce, Duck Sauce is Slates, Finkel is Einhorn? Obtuse thoughts produce mundane knowledge...

Nike Chosen - Seaside Night Session

Went down to SD on Tuesday, surfed shit seaside, and met up with my mate Chris from Seeworthy Project to work on the Nike Chosen shoot. The beach was lined with Nike trucks, RVs, and signage galore; the groms were hungry for waves and I was hungry for gigabytes. As the sun went down and Wavves + the dj began to play some surprisingly roots tunes, we started filmin and I started nerdin.
